Tokyo Police Club may not be playing The Metro in Chicago until Friday, August 20, but we at Lost In Concert had the chance to preview what’s to come at their July 25 show in Buffalo, NY. Here’s a taste of what’s coming to Chicago!
The scene was hot and sweaty with a crowd of Buffalo residents jam packed into a multi-platform level indoor arena, all fueled up on Labatt’s and Molson. After the Freelance Whales performed, the stage underwent a complete set and sound change that resulted in an hour wait before TPC took the stage. The extra wait didn’t rain on the parade for any of the devoted fans ready to have a good time and rock out.
When the band came out, they literally ran to their instruments, stormed on the stage and jumped right into Favourite Colour, followed by a much speed-ed up version Nature of the Experiment. The Canadian quartet were in high spirits and brought super high energy as they blasted through their set with fast paced indie rock tracks that kept the crowd swaying. With the crowd singing along to most of the show, TPC finally wrapped up their set with Your English is Good, getting the crowd all riled up with the sing along choruses only to promptly depart from the stage. All in all, they brought high energy, sing-along anthems, and the power to move. Tokyo Police Club. No doubt they will be rocking the stage at The Metro in Chicago on August 20!

Saw Tokyo Police Club at the Pageant in Saint Louis. The show was incredible and I’m really digging Champ so far. Great pictures!
